DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE EFFICIENCY IN MUNICIPALGOVERNMENTS: DIAGNOSIS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF EL ALTO

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a key element in the modernization of public administration, optimizing processes, strengthening operational capacity, and improving service delivery. In this context, this research analyzed its impact on the administrative efficiency of the Autonomous Municipal Government of El Alto, considering the level of integration of technological tools into its management. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach, with a descriptive-correlational scope, a non-experimental, and cross-sectional design, employing structured surveys administered to municipal officials. The results show progress in the implementation of digital tools for process automation and information management; however, limitations persist in interoperability between departments and in the consolidation of a comprehensive technological infrastructure. Furthermore, a positive relationship was identified between digital transformation and administrative efficiency, demonstrating that the use of technology contributes to strengthening organizational performance, optimizing resources, and improving institutional responsiveness. It is concluded that digital transformation is a determining factor for administrative efficiency and an essential component in the modernization of municipal public administration.
